We received some excellent news today.
Elli (Oilelli von der Schmiede) is pregnant with her first
litter of puppies! This will also be the first
litter for the sire, Colt vom Hollbaeck. The puppies
will be born around January 15th and be ready for new
homes in mid-March.
12/5/2011
Tomorrow, our B
Litter turns
8 weeks of age.
The first puppy is leaving tomorrow and the rest will
follow over the next few weeks with the exception of
Bianca vom Coraschatten.
We are very excited to keep Bianca here with us.
11/29/2011
Today, our B litter
is 7 weeks of age. They have had a busy week with
meeting lots of new people and their first raccoon (dead).
We have some new
photos to share
that were taken this past weekend.
11/22/2011
It is hard to
believe that our B litter puppies are already
six-weeks old!
The pups are really active and enjoy exploring the yard
and playing with new toys. The only times they will
hold still are when they are sleeping or when they are
being held.
11/16/2011
This past week was very busy for us.
Cortney attended the annual DL-GNA Meeting and Hunt in
South Dakota while Scott stayed home to take care of the
puppies. We also got a couple of breedings between
Elli (Oilleli von der Schmiede) and Colt (Colt vom
Hollbaeck).
A friend came over
yesterday to photograph our
5-week old puppies.
Please check out Tim's website at
www.feathersphotography.com to
view other great photos as well.
11/8/2011
Our B Litter is
4 Weeks Old
already. It has been fun to see each of their
personalities start to develop.
11/2/2011
Our Elli (Oilleli
von der Schmiede) surprised us today by coming into heat
much earlier than expected. We will be breeding her
to Colt vom Hollbaeck in the upcoming weeks and with any
luck, our
C litter will be
due around mid-January 2012.
11/1/2011
The puppies are now
3 weeks old and
getting more active every day! They are also just
learning how to drink out of a dish.
10/25/2011
Check out new
photos of our
2 week old puppies!
10/19/2011
We encourage
everyone to check out the November 2011 issue of Gun Dog
Magazine. Our breed, the Deutsch Langhaar, is
featured and Nando vom Auwelt (the sire to our A Litter)
is featured on the cover of the magazine. There is
also a really nice pointing photo of our Elli on
page 54 of the
issue.
10/18/2011
Our B litter of
pups is now 1 week old. New photos of the puppies
can be found
HERE.
10/17/2011
Congratulation to Walter Soehl and Ando
vom Hollbaeck for completing their VGP this past weekend.
Ando is the sire to our B litter of puppies and we are
very proud that his test went so well. Ando earned
an incredible score of 345 points and a Prize I
(Totverweiser) with 4Hs in pointing, the search behind the
duck, and the search without the duck.
We would also like to congratulate
Hermann Rohling and Nando vom Auwelt for their outstanding
VGP performance this past weekend. Nando earned 319
points with a Prize I and was named suchenseiger.
Nando was the sire to our A litter of puppies.
10/11/2011
Our
"B" Litter of
puppies has arrived! Kaylee whelped 9 puppies in the
early hours of the morning. There are 3 females and
6 males. We have a lot of color variation in this
litter. We ended up with 4 schimmel pups, 2 brown
pups with white chest markings, and 3 solid brown pups.
10/10/2011
As the hunting
season progresses, we are hearing more great reports about
puppies from our A litter. You can check out a new
photo of
Aubrey vom Coraschatten
("Kayna") after a successful pheasant hunt or some new
photos of
Arik vom Coraschatten
("Finn") while he was getting some last-minute training
before a 2-week grouse/woodcock hunting trip in Minnesota.
10/5/2011
We added a couple
of new photos of Arko vom Coraschatten ("Porter") to the
website today.
Porter is now
almost 11 months old and ready for his first hunting
season this fall.
9/25/2011
Both Elli (Oilleli von der Schmiede) and
Colt (Colt vom Hollbaeck) ran in tests this weekend and we
are happy to announce that both dogs passed. Colt
earned 157 points in his HZP and Elli earned 268 points
with a Prize II in her VGP.
9/6/2011
We have good news to share today.
A trip to our vet confirmed that Kaylee (Cora vom
Illertal) is definitely pregnant! It looks like we
will be having our "B" litter of pups around October 10th.
9/1/2011
August was a very
busy month for us as we continued preparing for our fall
tests. Colt vom Hollbaeck is nearly ready for his
HZP and Oilleli von der Schmiede is nearly ready for her
VGP. You can check out some August training photos
of Colt, Elli, and Kaylee
HERE.
8/23/2011
Our "A" Litter
puppies are now 9 months of age. It has been really
nice to have a couple of those pups nearby to watch them
develop. Kayna (Aubrey vom Coraschatten) has turned
into quite the water dog! You can check out some new
photos of her
HERE.
8/15/2011
We have a couple of good pieces of news
to share. A few days ago, we learned that our Colt
vom Hollbaeck has received a hip rating of "A" from
Germany. He is now one step closer to getting
certified for breeding.
Also, Kaylee (Cora vom Illertal)
recently came into heat. She was bred to Ando vom
Hollbaeck late last week so with any luck, we will have a
litter of puppies whelp in mid-October. We should be
able to confirm the pregnancy in about a month.
7/22/2011
Apparently it is
that time of year when folks start to think about adding a
new hunting companion to their family. The
Upcoming Litters
page was updated today to reflect that we now have 6
puppies reserved from our upcoming litters. We are
only planning to accept 6 more deposits between now and
the whelp dates. Please
contact us if
you are interested in reserving a puppy for early 2012.
6/12/2011
We received new
photos today of Ava vom Coraschatten ("Willow").
Apparently Willow shares her mother's love of water.
Check out some photos of her dock jumping
HERE.
6/5/2011
Oilleli von der Schmiede just became the
second NAVHDA Utility Prize I Deutsch Langhaar in our
household. Today, Elli completed her NAVHDA Utility
test with 201 points and a Prize I!
5/27/2011
It is hard to
believe that our "A" litter of langhaars has already
turned 6 months old this past week. We talked to
most of the puppy owners and it sounds like the puppies
are doing great. You can check out updated photos of
most of the puppies by clicking on their individual pages
HERE.

Please take a
minute to visit the new JGV-USA website at
www.jgv-usa.org.

our Deutsch Langhaars through. Cortney is the new
webmaster for JGV-USA and is very happy to launch this
newly-revised website today.

underway for us. Yesterday, Colt vom Hollbaeck ran
in his VJP and earned a great score of 71 points.
Elli (Oilleli vd Schmiede) ran her VJP today and was

also like to congratulate our other drahthaar and langhaar
friends that tested over the weekend.

your dog. Jim has been force-fetching Ava vom
Coraschatten ("Willow") recently and shared a few recent
photos with us.
1/27/2011
Yesterday we received several photos of Beretta vom
Coraschatten ("Retta") from her 2010 hunting season.
Her owner, Ken, said that it was a "slow bird season" but
the photos are evidence to the contrary. You can
check them out on
Retta's page.
1/17/2011
It is hard to believe that the puppies will be 8 weeks old
tomorrow and soon leave for their new homes. The
last two months have really flown by. The latest
photos of the pups can be found
HERE.
1/14/2011
Today we received a
couple of hunting photos of Ava vom Coraschatten

several opportunties to hunt ruffed grouse, pheasants and
waterfowl in Minnesota this past fall. You can check
