When we first decided to breed Kaylee (Cora
vom Illertal) to Ando vom Hollbaeck, we knew right
away that we would want to keep a puppy from that litter.
It can be really challenging to select an 8-week old puppy and
know that its the right dog for you...especially when you have a
litter where all of the pups have such similar temperaments and
conformation. We really went back and forth between all
three females in the litter. But at the end of the day, we
really love Kaylee and were hoping to get another dog just like
her out of this breeding. So we selected the puppy that
most reminded us of Kaylee and that happened to be Bianca.
Bianca bears a striking resemblence to Kaylee with the same head
and facial expressions. And her temperament leaves no
doubt that she is Kaylee's daughter. She is quiet and
sweet and always seeking affection from us. And yet at the
same time, she has shown no hesitance in jumping in to drag a
dead raccoon or other wild game. Bianca is also incredibly
cooperative. At just shy of 8 weeks of age, she would just
bring me one toy after another with a wagging tail and just
happy to receive praise.
We hope that Bianca will be
able to mirror many of her mother and father's accomplishments.
Her dam, Kaylee, is a hard-hunting dog in the field with a
particular affinity for water work. She was very easy to
train due to her drive and her desire to please. Bianca's
sire, Ando, earned the best water work award at the 2010
Schorlemer with a 4H in the search behind the duck and 3rd place
overall. At his VGP, he earned additional 4Hs in the
independent water search and pointing.
Bianca
certainly has some high expectations to live up to and we look
forward to working with her in 2012 to get her some testing and
hunting experience before seeing what she is really made of
during her advanced training/testing in 2013.
