Gera (pronounced "Gare-ah") joined the
Coraschatten family in July 2007. Gera's mom
was imported from Germany in 2007 while pregnant.
This was a repeat breeding with the pups from the previous litter proven
in Germany.
Gera was a very bird-crazy puppy. The photo on
our homepage was taken of Gera with her first quail at 11 weeks of
age. She saw her first ducklings at 8.5 weeks of age and
promptly began carrying them around. Gera also really enjoys
water. She was swimming by 10 weeks and we would sometimes catch her
just splashing around in the kiddie pool by herself. Gera is a very sweet girl who loves everyone she
meets. She is extremely laid-back and loves to fall asleep in
our laps. You won't find a more lovable dog than Gera. She is an
average-sized
female (about 61cm tall) with a ton of drive in the field. She
has a really nice search that covers a lot of ground and a super
nose. We have had judges at her tests comment specifically on
how superb her scenting ability it. At her NAVHDA test, she
found twice as many birds as any other puppy.
Gera's most outstanding quality is her tracking
ability. In her past two tests, she earned maximum scores for
tracking. She just has phenomenal concentration and is very
persistent. We know that whenever we wound a bird, Gera is
going to track it down come back with it. At the same
time, she definitely has that switch where she can calm down in the
house before/after tearing it up in the field. |
