Kaylee was bred to Birko von Heek in April.
The puppies were born on June 16th, 2008 and all of the puppies went
to their new homes in mid-August 2008. We expect the puppies in this litter to be
small to medium-sized. Both parents are brown, but Kaylee is a carrier of
the schimmel (roan) color so we do expect that one or two of the
puppies will be schimmel while the rest will be braun in color.
One outstanding feature of both Kaylee and Birko is their build and
their ability to run. Both dogs are quick and cover a lot of ground while
hunting. The puppies will probably be medium-ranging gundogs
like their parents. Both dogs also have excellent pointing
ability and excellent noses. Each earned maximum scores in
pointing, search, desire, cooperation, obedience, duck searches, and nose in their hunting tests.
We are breeding Kaylee to Birko because of his exceptional search,
pointing, and nose, and his breath-taking good looks. He is also
a very quiet and calm dog. Birko also has very nice dark eyes
(something preferred in the breed but rarely seen). With this breeding, we are hoping to
produce good-looking longhairs that hunt with fast-pace at medium
range.
