Rina is a very sweet young girl that was imported from Germany in the spring of 2016. We had selected her litter thinking that it would be a good fit for everything her new owners were looking for. When we first met Rina, she was about 3 months old and we could already tell that she had a really special temperament. She was very cooperative and mellow....just a sweetheart of a puppy. We hoped her new owners would like her as much as we did.
Flash forward a few months and her owners asked us if we would be willing to prepare Rina for her first hunting season. Their small business had really taken off and they were busier than planned for the whole summer and early fall. So we agreed to take Rina in for one month of training from late September through late October. She would then return to Kansas for her first hunting season.
With an entire month to work with Rina, we decided to force-fetch Rina to get a jump-start on her training for the 2017 HZP. We are also training her the halt command and working on introductory pointing and water retrieves. Rina did very well in training and she was an absolute joy to have in our house. She is so sweet and so laid back. Our 1-year old nephew came over to visit one day and Rina laid calmly on the floor while he pulled her ears, bit her, and crawled over her. She really has the most oustanding temperament.
We were too busy to continue training Rina for her tests in 2017 so we recommended another friend to take over her training. Troy Hohlweck will be running Rina through her VJP and HZP in 2017. We are already looking forward to seeing how she does in testing and hope that she becomes certified for breeding.
